Activating your SketchUp Subscription License

Congratulations, and Welcome to our family of happy and productive iRender SketchUp Users

How to Download, Install and Activate your SketchUp Pro/Studio 2024 Subscription License

STEP 01: Download and Install SketchUp 2024

Please review the Download and Installation instructions located here

And please take particular note of the fact that when installing SketchUp 2024, two additional Modules, namely the New Revit Importer, and Scan Essentials for SketchUp and Layout are installed by default as 7 x Day Trial Versions for you to check out. You can of course just Untick the Checkbox for these two Applications if you prefer NOT to install them.

The V-Ray 6 for SketchUp Rendering Application is only available in the SketchUp Studio 2024 (Windows Only) product offering.

STEP 02: Create your TRIMBLE ID

Unlike the previous SketchUp Perpetual License Activation which required the End User to input a Serial Number and an Auth Code, Activation of your new SketchUp Subscription License is achieved via the creation of a TRIMBLE ID which identifies you as the Registered End User of your license.

On receipt of your Proof of Payment, iRender will process your Order on Trimble which will result in you receiving a "MANAGE YOUR ACCOUNT" eMail confirmation directly from Trimble confirming your Order.

Please check your SPAM FOLDER, since it is possible that the said Trimble eMail notification may land up there.

Click on the blue "MANAGE YOUR ACCOUNT" Button, and proceed to create your TRIMBLE ID as detailed here.

Please be sure to use your eMail Address that you confirmed with iRender when placing your Order as your "USERNAME". Then select a PASSWORD of your choice to complete the Activation process.

Be sure to record this information for future use. NOTE: When SIGNING IN, and you receive a message that you are in Trial Mode, the chances are that you have used the incorrect eMail Address as your "USERNAME".

Also note that you are technically and legally entitled to Install and Activate your new SketchUp Subscription License on two workstations using your previously created TRIMBLE ID to verify yourself. You will obviously just not be able to run SketchUp on both workstations at the same time. It works on an either / or basis.

STEP 03: You are running in Trial Mode

If you have followed the above instructions carefully, and you still receive a message stating that you are running in Trial Mode, please proceed as follows:

  • Sign into SketchUp. On the Welcome Screen, select the option "LICENSE". Now select the "blue/green person icon" and "SIGN OUT" and close SketchUp.
  • SHUT DOWN your workstation by Powering it Off, and then Start it up again. (DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP, AND DON'T JUST SELECT RESTART)
  • If you are running on the Windows Operating System, Right Click on your SketchUp Icon and select the option "Run As Administrator", and "SIGN IN" to SketchUp using your TRIMBLE ID.
  • You should now be good to go again.

You are of course always welcome to contact athol@irender.co.za for assistance in this regard.

Enjoy, and wishing you many joyful and productive hours using SketchUp.
